For this Design-Build project, Anderson Knight teamed with Riley Construction to provide the City of Wamego with a new 11,700 square foot service center for the electric department. They City of Wamego operates it’s own electric generating and distribution system and this new facility provided the opportunity to replace an outdated operating facility. The pre-engineered metal building has four parking bays which can park 12 electric utility service trucks, an overhead bridge crane, wash bay, offices, conference room, locker rooms, and storage. The offices and locker rooms are constructed as a FEMA storm room which then provided additional mezzanine storage. Additional site work included a security perimeter fence and a 112′ x 40′ outdoor equipment storage building. All of this was completed at a cost of $2,700,000.
