DESIGNER

POSITION OVERVIEW
1. This position will work with and under the direct supervision of Project Managers to assist in
project programming, design, and documentation.

ACCOUNTABLE TO
1. Project Managers

EXPERIENCE
1. Up to three years.

EDUCATION
1. Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Architecture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Generates architectural concepts for projects, including programming, site planning, master
planning, building design, and documentation.
2. Prepares and produces Building Information Models (BIMs) to create and document
architectural designs.
3. Interfaces with clients on design issues and determines and develops architectural solutions.
4. Provides creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.
5. Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents.
6. Performs design computations and specifications and compiles data for basic to complex
architectural assignments.
7. Reviews building codes and conducts zoning analyses to ensure that designs comply with
minimum legal standards.
8. Assists in construction administration by reviewing shop drawings, answering Requests for
Information (RFI) and Architectural Supplemental Information (ASI) and preparation of change
directives.
9. Collaborates with other team members to advance design concepts.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be physically able to conduct field work as assigned.
2. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
3. Must have a reliable form of transportation to the office.
4. May require the ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk.
5. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to
grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate technical equipment, read technical
information and to analyze complex data, as well as good hearing and speaking abilities to
exchange information on the phone or in person.
